Build confidence and competence in your students with our high school curriculum written by teachers, for teachers.
Secondary students are navigating new challenges as they enter the physical, social, emotional, mental, and academic rigors of high school.
At In Focus Education Group, we provide you with a well-being curriculum that will help your students succeed in all aspects of their lives, both now and in the future.
Our high school curriculum encompasses grades 9-12. Written by high school teachers and counselors, our curriculum is aligned with developmentally appropriate practices that address the needs of secondary students.
Students face unique challenges during high school, and well-being life skills are critical during these years. A curriculum focused on well-being helps students develop the skills they need to navigate challenges and build a foundation for success in high school and beyond. What We Offer
When you partner with In Focus Education Group, you gain access to an adaptable curriculum created by experts with over 150 years of combined experience in education.
After talking with several seasoned teachers and administrators, we developed a program that would be flexible, require minimal prep for teachers, and be engaging for all students. With In Focus Education Group’s SEL curriculum for high school, you’ll receive:
Today’s schools depend on simple and successful online learning programs. That's why our curriculum can be used in-person or remotely through various digital platforms (such as Google Classroom or Canvas).
All graphic organizers can be printed or projected through Google Slides, based on teacher preference or situation. This flexibility allows schools and districts to save time and money.
We knew that in order to provide an excellent well-being curriculum for high school students, we needed to go above and beyond the curriculum that was already available.
That’s why we built a state-of-the-art tool, our Reflection APP, which provides students a safe place to share insights, concerns, and questions directly with teachers based on lesson topics and prompts. Student responses provide real-time data for teachers so they can adjust their teaching if necessary. Teachers and administrators can also communicate with each other to help students achieve the best possible outcomes in well-being learning.
Based on our own experiences as educators and hearing from thousands of teachers, we created a curriculum that requires very little preparation time; most teachers said they could plan a week’s worth of lessons in as little as 15 minutes.
All of the necessary materials are included in every lesson. All lessons include Google Slide presentations that are used with students to convey lesson content, guide discussions, and provide directions for specific activities. The slides include all digital materials needed for the lesson, including referenced images, videos, read-alouds, and graphic organizers.
All graphic organizers are included in the lesson plan and can be projected (through the Google Slide presentation), downloaded, or printed. No printed resources are included with the In Focus curriculum.
Social, emotional, and cognitive development are deeply intertwined and, together, are integral to academic learning and success.
Rather than teaching in discipline-based silos, the In Focus curriculum explicitly teaches and reinforces not only life skills but also supports the acquisition of knowledge and skills in English Language Arts, Mathematical Practices, Social Studies Themes, Science Cross Cutting Skills, Fine Arts, and PE/Health.
Through strong integration, students can transfer and apply what they are learning through the In Focus well-being curriculum to strengthen their learning in all aspects of their lives—including their physical, social, emotional, mental, and academic lives—thus supporting healthy development in a young person’s life.
Aligned with Bloom’s taxonomy and Webb’s Depth of Knowledge, the emphasis of our high school curriculum is on deliberately teaching through direct instruction and inquiry that engages students in learning the knowledge, skills, and dispositions appropriate to their age. Through our hands-on activities, students recall facts and basic concepts, explain ideas, and use information in new situations. Skills are sequentially scaffolded and reinforced in multiple ways.
Deep learning is reinforced through problem solving as students apply and transfer skills in cross-disciplinary ways, as well as draw connections among ideas, evaluate perspectives and data, and create and produce new and original work.
Research has shown that engaged parents show love, provide support, set limits, are role models, teach responsibility, and provide a range of experiences for their children.
We know that when parents are involved in their child's learning, students reach new heights. Our parent curriculum develops a relationship between learning at school and learning in the home, supports parents in their unique role as educators, and increases the transparency of the students' curriculum to build trust between parent and teacher.
Our K-12 student and teacher curriculum is currently available in both English and Spanish resources. Please reach out to us to request or learn more about our various resources for English Language Students.
