Professional Development

In Focus Professional Development reflects research-based best practice strategies that teachers can incorporate into their own classrooms. We provide hands-on, engaging opportunities for teachers to reflect, collaborate, and experience our curriculum. The professional learning is customized to your teachers’ needs and learning objectives and builds long-term relationships, ownership, and accountability through a structured approach.

In Focus Professional Development:

  • reflects research-based best practice strategies* that teachers can incorporate into their own classrooms.
  • provides hands-on, engaging opportunities for teachers to reflect, collaborate, and experience our curriculum.
  • is customized to your teachers’ needs and learning objectives.
  • builds long-term relationships, ownership, and accountability through a structured approach.

In Focus offers professional development options for teachers, staff, and administrators. We provide both digital and face-to-face platforms for professional development training opportunities.

Prior to the delivery of professional development, In Focus will meet with district/school administrators in a pre-training consultation, in which learning objectives and agenda are established and clarified.

In supporting a sustainable implementation plan, we recommend a scaled and structured approach, in which administrators and teachers experience the training in meaningful ways.

Administrator and teacher training can be facilitated separately or simultaneously, depending on district goals and timing.

We strongly recommend that all teachers using the curriculum participate in a training to launch the curriculum and then a training mid-year to fine tune instruction and analyze assessment data.

Professional development for multi-year purchases include onboarding of new teachers and a refresh/fine tune of curriculum and assessment for veteran teachers.

Schedule the professional development training date(s) with your regional sales manager. In Focus provides both digital and face-to-face platforms for professional development training opportunities.

Participate in the pre-training consultation, in which learning objectives and agenda are established and clarified.

Upon completion of the training, an exit ticket will be completed for all participants. Exit ticket feedback will be shared with school and district administrators to identify next steps.

Schedule upcoming professional development training date(s) and potential ongoing consulting opportunities.

Social, emotional, and cognitive development are deeply intertwined and, together, are integral to academic learning and success.

Rather than teaching in discipline-based silos, the In Focus curriculum explicitly teaches and reinforces not only life skills but also supports the acquisition of knowledge and skills in English Language Arts, Mathematical Practices, Social Studies Themes, Science Cross Cutting Skills, Fine Arts, and PE/Health.

Through strong integration, students can transfer and apply what they are learning through the In Focus well-being curriculum to strengthen their learning in all aspects of their lives—including their physical, social, emotional, mental, and academic lives—thus supporting healthy development in a young person’s life.

In Focus offers professional development options for teachers, staff, and administrators. We provide both digital and face-to-face platforms for professional development training opportunities.

All curriculum purchases include a 45 minute onboarding training for all administrators and teachers using the curriculum at no cost. We recommend purchasing 2 additional PD days (Fall/Winter) for full curriculum implementation.

The cost of professional development includes the trainer (travel, hotel, and expenses) and all needed training materials. Please reach out to your sales director to create the professional development plan that best aligns with your priorities.

The following topics can be scheduled as follow-up PD sessions based on the reflection data and needs of the district and school. These topics align with the In Focus teacher well-being curriculum lessons and reflection prompts.
