PARENT GUIDE
Increase Transparency & Trust
"Nebo School District has hired Dr. Amy Miner as a consultant to help our Well-being Team. Dr Miner’s expertise and knowledge surrounding social emotional learning is tied to research and best practices. She has been able to guide us through the learning process of data analysis and vision and mission development expertly. We are now ready to tackle district wide implementation and with her guidance we will be ready to start the new school year with a great action plan for each of our 47 schools that is tailored to the needs of each school community! If you have the opportunity to partner with In Focus don’t pass it up." Danny Lundell
Nebo school district curriculum specialist
"We started out on a process pursuing a company that can fill our [well-being] needs well over a year ago. It was made very clear to us from the school board and administrators that we needed to find a program that best fit [the culture of our] community. We did an exhaustive search, and I have personally vetted 13 different programs. We opened and went through [a formal] RFP bidding process. After that process we had an evaluation committee that evaluated the [top four well-being programs]. In Focus was hands down the top responsive bidder—not just in price but also in product."
Jason Owen
Director of Federal Programs and Curriculum, Snowflake Unified School District
"The In Focus curriculum teaches us something other than Math and English. I learned new things that helped me see what I can improve on and what I am doing well at."

"As the superintendent of Snake River and with twenty-plus years of experience, I have seen
a lot of curriculum that improve student outcomes. None of them compare with In Focus
education group, which is why I have chosen it for my district, K–12. For example, their
student reflection APP brings together cutting-edge technology and student engagement.
We are most excited about the whole system K–12 approach and look forward to getting
upstream to prevent student well-being issues."
mark kress
Superintendent, Snake River School District, Idaho
"As a Prevention Specialist working in the field of addiction, abuse, and suicide prevention, I have researched dozens of programs to implement in our area. In Focus provides the most
comprehensive and up-to-date information, as well as easy to prepare lessons to implement for educators. The lessons speak to what we are facing and does not stray from the topic of student well-being. Addressing academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being, the comprehensive lessons allow for truly building resilience skills and meets all criteria we utilize in the field of prevention science."

"I like the interactive teacher well-being sessions and Amy was very personable. I learned to be more understanding about my students’ limitations and problems. It helped me gather ideas for future use with students. It also let me know about communication, creativity, empathy, etc."

I was searching for the most effective way to support every teacher in the district when I learned about the In Focus Educator well-being program. In Focus was exactly what I was looking for. It is designed to provide well-being strategies to teachers and staff in the most efficient way. The program has opened avenues of discussion and “well-being” strategies for our teachers and now our students.

"I think just being able to talk about our problems and solutions as teachers was a big help in getting everyone's point of view and learning from each other. I really liked how Amy would always take something from our comments, give us feedback, and make a connection with us."

"The In Focus curriculum has been very good for our students. The teachers have found it
easy to use and have liked having the conversations that it brings up. This has been especially helpful for those students who don’t have a strong support system at home. It has allowed our teachers to connect with them and create bonds with them."
michael corbett
principal, malad high school
"Twenty years of experience as an educator has given me opportunities to connect with high-quality educators. There are few educators that know how to engage in effective instruction, coaching, and leadership at a high level. Amy is the exception. Amy’s extensive background in curriculum content and skill in instruction gives her the unique ability to empower teachers and leaders alike through high-quality instruction and coaching."

"I have loved using the In Focus curriculum for our Online School. The lessons are rich with content that aligns with our identified well-being priorities. The ability to use specific lessons as stand alone interventions is fantastic. I have also enjoyed taking our students through the modules from Conditions to Competencies and finally Celebrations of well-being. I would strongly recommend the use of In Focus in any educational setting K-12." danny lundell

"The In Focus well-being teacher training helped me to see how important it is to take care of myself, have personal time to ponder, and grow to be able to actually help and have better communication and connection with my students."

"I like that the In Focus curriculum teaches life skills that I will need now and forever. I like learning new ways to better myself and be better for others."

"Working with Amy Miner has developed into a valuable partnership. She spent a lot of quality time with me identifying the real needs of the PPEP teachers. She then developed a teacher well-being professional development process customized to meet their needs. She took time to visit our school and meet some of our teachers. What impresses me about Amy is her knowledge and authentic commitment to provide an effective teacher well-being curriculum. We are excited about our future and continued partnership with In Focus."
